Meet Laureen UY, Fashion Blogger and Actress from Manila/ BREAK MY STYLE

LAUREEN UY, this actress/ brand owner turned fashion blogger started her blog in 2010, her blog had over 4 million hits from all over the globe. "Break My Style" is now the no. 1 most viewed fashion blog in the Philippines.
Laureen Uy started interning for a fashion magazine when she was 15, then decided to make her own online clothing store www.stylebreak.multiply.com. At 22, she had made a name for herself as the no. 1 fashion blogger in the Philippines.
"Fashion for me is really about knowing your personal style. It’s how you experiment with any particular clothing and add a piece of yourself into it”, she says .
How did you started blogging?
- It was actually a birthday gift for myself. I wanted a visual diary so that even 5-10 years from now, I can just look at my old photos and reminisce.
What inspires you?
- Everything actually. Colors, people, magazines, blogs, etc. I try and make a positive thing out of everything and turn it into an inspiration.
Who is your style icon?
- Rumi Neely. I love her style.
What are your favorite brands to shop?
- Lane Crawford, YSL, Alexander Wang. More affordable ones would be H&M and Topshop.
- Edgy and experimental
What is your current favorite piece of clothing in your closet?
- Corsets
- Believe it or not, it's amazing. So many people here are fashionable and they really make a statement. If you notice in lookbook, a lot of the top leaders are actually from the Philippines.
What do you think about WFG’s blog?
- It looks so classy and chic. It's nice to look at and read too because of the simple template.
